I'm using a smaller return pump so now my overflow teeth are making the water level lower than I would like. I'm trying to think of a solution to "raise" the teeth. I was think about placing a piece of plastic/glass over the bottom part of the teeth to allow the water line to increase. Does anyone have experience doing something like this?

Yes, you can raise the water level by blocking off part of the overflow. Many sumps, including my own, have this built in so you can adjust your water level. I attached a pic.
May I ask if there is a reason you are doing this?

Silicone a small piece of plexi on the inside(purely aesthetic) of the overflow covering the bottom of the teeth some. You can also put it on the outside/tank side of the overflow, you’ll just be able to see it visually.

Ah ok my overflow doesn't come with that. The water level is lower than I would like and it's creating bubbles. I've tested that raising the water level fixes this issue
