I have a standard 1/2 in pipe that feeds my overflow into my refugime but it seems every time I feed the fish I had to stop the over flow because it sucks up all the food before the clown and lion fish can eat up. How should I adapt my over flow to make it so the fish can eat the food and my sock doesn't collet food and make extra nitrates for my tank. Any ideas would be appreciated

Alot of the newer pumps/power heads have a built in feed mode that pauses them for 10 minutes and then the pumps will pick right up where they left off.

I would soak food to make sure it sinks and feed slowly.

Which types of food do you recommend to sink I feed small pellets to the clown and the lion I'm going to start with guppies tomorrow

Do not feed lionfish goldfish or guppies. Feed them something of marine origin not fresh water

Simply unplug your return pump long enough for the fish to feed. There are timers you can purchase if you don't think you can remember to plug the pump back in.
