Hi all.. I'm busy setting up my first tank.. I've got this idea...
My return pump is 1200l\h or 317g\h and my pipes are 32mm or 1.25 inch measuring from the outside. Will my waterhead be to big or what??

All help appreciated

I would want to do something like in this picture

When you are asking if your waterhead is too big, I'm guessing you are referring to the pump head pressure to pump the water back up to the tank?

If so, your piping size is fine, but we would need to know the height of your tank over the sump and the brand/model of pump you are using. That way we can look at the pump curves and get a rough idea of what your actual flow rate would be.

Taking about the waterhead, I was referring to the suction that that overflow would create to suck in small fish like clowns ect..
The return pump is a BOYU fountain pump and sorry my bad.. it 1570l/h and the inner tube of the pipes are 25mm

Ah, ok. You just can't leave it exposed. As long as you put a strainer of some sort over it you will be fine. Healthy fish won't have any problem dealing with the suction.

So I should be fine with the suction to pump ratio as well? Would the 25mm handle the 1570l\h mabey 1300l\h if you count in the elbows?

Yes, the 1" pipe (sorry, I don't think as well in metric) will easily handle that much flow. Depending on your sump height you may only get 200gph (750l\h). A 1" pipe can handle over 1,000gph or 6000l\h depending on how it is plumbed and utilized.
