What do you put in the overflow box so cut down on noise and the build up detritus and an algae factory...

How many drains are setup in it? mine has PVC (3) and the first is full siphon, second is a trickle, 3rd is dry/emergency. Stays silent.

It has one main drain and one emergency drain...I bought it thru BRS, I believe it's the dx12 7*7*5

If you run a flow rate that has the main drain underwater completely, and the secondary one just letting a very small trickle in, it will be silent.

The pipes raise up from the box to allow junk go collect in the bottom of the overflow box

The overflow mounts up high on the side so the plumbing runs straight into overflow...I'll send a pic when I get home from work

I have some sorta algae going on but everyone says it's the "ugly" phase...old tank was up for 3 months before upgrading tank size, it's been up for 6 weeks...I used all same rocks plus 15 lbs of new dry rock and 90lbs new sand with the additional 2lbs of old sand for "beneficial bacteria"? This is my first time with saltwater so I have been researching for months still kinda lost because we don't have a local LFS other than Petco in a 50 mile range...

Yes definitely still in ugly stage. Make sure you are dosing microbacter7 or dr Tim's. For additional support. Do you have have any coral? If not go lights out for a few days.

I do have coral...some softies, lps, and sps....are u wanting to know what the back of the tank looks like or ?
