Overflow

Im planning on drilling the back of my 40G breeder. Do I need an overflow box still? I’m getting mixed answers?

just trying to understand this concept.

I have a 40 breeder with a sump. Yes, you will need an overflow box if you are plumbing to a sump - which I recommend! See my build thread if you want an idea.
