Overflows Corners vs trapezoids

If you are getting a dual overflows pre-drilled setup...would it be better to get 2 corner overflows or the trapezoid overflows at the 1/3 and 2/3 mark along the back wall?

Is either one any worse or better if you have to replace a bulkhead or plumbing piece? I assume this would suck on either type.

Corners do tend to give you more usable space and it is nice not to have something popping out right in the middle of the tank. I have a 90 gallon drilled with a single corner overflow.

Let me be the odd ball...

Obviously I am a little biased as to which type of overflow I like, but if I am constrained by the two you asked about, I prefer center trapezoid overflows. The reason being if you plan on viewing from the side panels (I love that different vantage), then the corner overflows are pretty unsightly. I also like only having to run one set of drains.

However, if your tank is going to be in-wall, or sandwiched between two things like a wall and a television, then you can't see in the side panels, and the corner overflows do seem to perceptively take up less space in the tank. Setting up bean animals in both boxes is probably a little overkill. A Herbie in each box should be more than enough, because each others open channel operates as an emergency.
