Overflows on a 6 foot peninsula style tank

We are setting up a tank in our office. It will be installed in the wall between two offices, and will be viewable on both sides; thus we will be getting a peninsula style tank. With the tank being 6 feet long, would it be better to have an overflow on each side of the tank, or do you think a single overflow would be ok? The full dimensions of the tank will be 72"x18"x22".

I removed the durso's on my 300 DD and added a ghost overflow on the end. Works perfectly fine.

You mean doing a bean animal type overflow instead of a Herbie or a single standpipe, correct?

I mean just having 2 main drains and 1 emergency. Silencers..... up to you.

Love that tank. But, because of how the tank is situated, the overflows have to be drilled through the bottom of the tank.

I have a 6ft peninsula...overflow on one side...more than enough. However, overflow on either side will help remove any debris on the surface of the water that accumulates. Now that I think about it. The challenge is that the return lines tend to be on the same side of the overflow causing debris to accumulate on the far side of the tank. Yes I know you can try and get that to be swept up with pumps, but I think its not as easy, I have 2 gyres and it definitely helps. 2 smaller overflow could potentially eliminate that problem and you may consider putting a single return line on both sides, helps even out the flow. Btw, if silence is a concern I would stay away from the ghost, unless they changed their design. I had installed one and no matter what I did, it was noisy. Until I changed it for a different one and guess what...no noise. Just my 2 cents on that.

Had to edit, also 2 returns you dont' need 1.5" pipe....1" would do just fine.

1 on each end as long as the ends are in the wall & 1" will do just fine.

On my 220g 6 foot peninsula tank I have a reef synergy ghost overflow on one end of tank for nearly 10 years and works great
