Hey, Ive had a toadstool coral for almost 4 years now and its finally getting too big for my tank, when its fully open its almost coming out of the water (I also cant even clean the glass around it). Would it be wise to frag it in half, like cut it somewhere in the center and put the top piece somewhere else or should I just try to rehome the entire thing, which I dont really want to do. If fragging has a high risk of killing it then thats a no

They are pretty easy to frag. You just cut a piece off. Not a large risk of killing it as they are hardy. It could slime up and tick other stuff off though. I would probably just drain the water a bit... frag a chunk off and rehome the big boy and keep the little frag to start over. Running some activated carbon will help with chemical warfare.

Take a couple of inches off it all around. I’d do a circle so you would wind upwith essentially a toadstool ring. Then you can cut that into pieces and put elsewhere or I’d sell. Use a sharp pair of scissors.

You cut an outer ring around it and then further cut that piece into further pieces. Rubberband the pieces on to some rubble or ceramic disks for about two weeks and they should attach on their own by then. It's handy to have a little iodine on hand just for healing.
