Overheated my salt mix overnight...like 130dg! steam was rising lol. finnex 800w in 40g of water. good heater lol.

any chemists our there that can tell me if there is anything bad about this. prob dump it just to be safe but thought I'd ask.

TIA!

Who's salt? The inorganic stuff is OK....things like the salt, alk and calc stuff, and trace elements. However, if it had "vitamins," I could see them possibly degrading. Even so, I'd still use it once it cools down.

Salt mixes *SHOULD* be organic free and heating to 130 should have no ill effect at all. You are probably going to have to add some RODI to straighten out the SG, but other than that there shouldn't be any problems. If you use a really high Alkalinity and Calcium salt mix, you might have a little extra precipitation, but that won't hurt anything.

I would be far more worried about my heater than the water at that temperature.
