These zoa's seemed fine and just turned white overnight.

My water conditions are pretty good (they do fluctuate a bit) and I feed them every few days. I do have AWC so wonder if nitrates are too low as they're close to zero but I thought the target feeding would be sufficient?

Any ideas?

I had them for a few months and moved them to this location a week ago. They actually seemed to like their new location in that the polups were much more extended and the little flowery ends were opening up very wide. I moved them because they were getting close to my Alevopora which seemed to be stinging it but after I moved the Zoa it seemed happy for several days since the move until this morning.

Honestly they don’t look unhappy. The polyps themselves seem fully extended and happy. They seem to be Nirvana’s, which can get a lighter ring, so it could just be them reacting to the change in PAR.

The picture probably didn't show it but the polyps don't seem connected to the core body structure and that core structure has become our white and somewhat translucent. More pics here

Phosphates are 0.25
Nitrates are maybe 5ppm (I need to get ultra low test kit)

Great news! My son realized that the plug had been knocked over probably by a crab. So that white translucent material in the center was old glue. I flipped it over and now it's back to normal obviously the polyps are a little bit disturbed from being flipped over. Mystery solved!
