I shipped UPS overnight a hurricane chalice and it didn't get on the plane last night or this morning. Whats the chance it will still be alive tomorrow? Anyone have any experience with this?

Please advise. Sad day

I had a LiveAquaria package do the same to me with a foxface in it. Sad to say, he didn't make it. LA gave me my money back, but I would rather have had the fish live.

Good luck, I hope the chalice makes it.

Box was lined with styrofoam, chalice was in a pee bottle, with box filled with packing peanuts. And three heat packs.

Id say it will be fine. I was receiving an order before that didnt make it till the third day with 5 chalices in it. Water was cold when i got them and they were ****** off but they survived. They are pretty hardy... Also depending if it was a fresh cut or not could have a say in it too

Pee bottle? like those orange capped speciman containers you urinate into at the doctors office!??!!? I am probably imagining the wrong container but i dont see how anything could survive in one of those for more than hour. They dont hold much liquid. I guess alot of it also rides on whether or not corals utilize dissolved oxygen in the water (sorry i am sort of a noob so I dunno if corals need O2)

i agree ......if it was packed good and with 3 heat packs it should be fine.....did you use 36 hour packs or 24 hour ? the onlt thing that could hurt it was you packed it in a pee bottle.....you should of put a bigger frag like that in a bigger container that holds alot of water..... small containers of water gets contaminated to fast...

IMO I think it will prob be fine. I ordered a baby maxima from LA that got stuck in a blizzard in michigan or whereever the divers den is and it made it almost 3 days later and it was fine. Good luck though. I think it all depends on how well they packaged it.

Kinda small amount of water for a half dollar sized Chalice....... dunno bro..... hoping for the best though!

It should be fine! I just had a coral sit in a box for seven days and it's doing fine! The heat packs are key!

this happened to me with a Jason fox my miami challice. that was a scary two days. chalice arrived perfect.

Mike, how did this turn out? I got several shipment in PeeCups, the frags were floating with styro! The frags came in in the best condition, but weren't delayed. I am a fan of the floating peecup method!

DOA, but no because of the peecups. I really think the delay killed it. The heatpacks gave out and the water got cold. I love the peecups and will continue to use them.

I use specimen cups also when shipping some things, it just depends on the coral too. I dont put any acros in them though.
I like bags for them because its softer for them too.

Sorry to hear that your coral didnt make it. Is anyone going to re-imburse you for the coral? Have you spoken to the shipping company? just wondering.....
