I have something going on in my take I have never seen in my many years of Reefing , it started as a clear slimy coating and now it's whitish cobweb mucus looking strands , in my Refugium and main display , kinda looks like the mucus nets Vermitid snails might shoot out , but there is so much ??? And ideas

Could it be the Calerpa going Asexual ? Water is a little cloudy today , or Vertex Bio pellets causing a algae bloom , help !!!

Carbon dosing with vertex bio pellets , they have been running for a few months only using about 1/2 the recommended amount

My vote is bacterial bloom. Id ween off of it just from looking ata it. Were you having nutrient issues? or just running that method?

The night before the mucus / spider web looking bloom , a thick gelatin like slime clogged my filter blocks and filter socks , it's gotta be the biopellets ? Thoughts ?

My vote is bacterial bloom. Id ween off of it just from looking ata it. Were you having nutrient issues? or just running that method?

No nutrient issue nitrate zero phos 0.02

with a fuge like that im not surprised.
id guess someting just kicked up and fed the bacteria exactly what it likes. maybe a new food or some hand in tank syndrome. any recent changes?
