Baby Trochus snails to be exact. 100s of them. Were cute and funny until they started getting into the MP40s. Now they crawl into the housing, get stuck between the propeller and the housing and cause a clicking noise/wear on the parts. I am having to take at least 1 pump out per day to clear.

What can I do to reduce the population?

Was planning to add a couple Halichoeres wrasses anyway for potential flatworm control. Will they eat these little buggers?

Had many sand sleeping wrasse keep my snail population down. When I tore down the tank I found many tiny empty shells. This round of new wrasse many the same in my tank and I’m finding baby trochus in my sump. That said im thinking reef safe wrasse on mellow side can be hit and Miss. I do feed heavy and may feed heavier now being a bigger tank.
Melenurus could be a good candidate but some can be jerks with other wrasse and sometimes other fish
