I've got a first world problem here, sure it's not the worst problem one could have but it's still a problem. As you can see this nice but oversized willowy toadstool is starting to shadow everything and is taking up a lot of prime real estate in a 34 gallon tank.

So question of the day, if this was your problem what would you do??

You can take some scissors or a sharp scalpel and cut it into frags. You can also cut the stock down if its too tall. They heal up quick, but will slime like crazy so do it in a separate container

Hmm so do you just cut around his little plume until he's just a stump? Or should I cut him at the base for one big piece? This is my baby but babys gotten out of control and needs to.. be... Mm this metaphor isn't working.

Look up an online soft coral fragment video and see what you need to do. I think if you chop it down to much it might not sprout? The top branches can be cut and planted / fragged- I have not logged a softy to the stump so I’m not sure? An Sps can be stumped and it will sprout back from the base, but it is a very different animal?

Not sure if you can "Paul Bunyan" toad stools. I've done pizza slices in the crown, don't cut the tip. Let them heal, then finish the cut and glue/rubber band to a rock.
