Anyone else here use oversized equipment? By that I mean I have a 29 gallon standard tank and am using a Maxspect R420r 27" 16k light, an AquaC Remora (rated for up to 75 gallons) and as soon as it comes in the mail an Ecotech MP-40wQD (sorry guys I was the one that won it from Marine Depot)

I think almost everyone it seems...

It is not required for successful reefing, though.

Due to its cost, you would be much better off selling of the MP40.

They cost over 300 bucks and you can flow a tank your size for more like 50 bucks. Put that disparity in your pocket and buy corals with it.

The other pieces really aren't that bad of a fit.

Well as far as flow goes I've already got 2 Jebao WP-10s and a Tunze 6040. But hey for free and a future upgrade I'm going to be keeping the MP-40. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 90 standard or a 93 cube by next summer after my move.

Started with a cube (with dual kessil 160s, lol) and have a 90 standard myself now as well. Just for that reason I oversized everything. I'm with ya, free is right in my budget
