Ok I have what I believe to be a 55g with built in sump. It's 48wide by 18 deep and 20 tall. The sump not included. Ok here's what I have in my tank besides corals....
I'm running a skimmer ,live rock and in sump rubble rock

2 clowns
1 mandarin dragnet
1 diamond gobie
1 tang which has been in the longest
1 damsel which I can't catch
2 pj's
1 aphasia file
1 orange anthius

Tank seems to be doing fine. Been running for over a yr now.
I want to add some green chromis to school but will that be too much?

I know there are methods to solve this, but practical app tells all.
I've seen tanks on mr saltwater and others that seem to be over stocked which makes me wonder

It doesn't look full but it's getting nice looking with ever bit of coral I add. Just my fish are boring and a school would be awesome

It's a 75 including sump.... The tank is 18 deep but display is like 14 deep
There's no way there's 25g in back so display is like 55 with 10 in sump

I'm not sure about overstocking but.... I was thinking about putting a school of black axil chromis in (pretty much look like the green chromis) and then I read through the "post your regrets thread" and there were way too many ones that had chromis in their posts... haha. I went with a school of 3 zebra dart fish (aka bar gobies), it adds some movement to the tank along with my fairy wrasse.

I've been trying to figure out if I'm getting close to overstocking my 55 gallon too but all my levels are still in check. I add a fish, see if levels go up, then add more fish... I am slowing down now though.

yellow tand and false perculious clowns

ive added 5 chromis today. im running phos ban in sump. tank is awesome... think ill be fine. but what about coral. coral doesnt really add to a bio load does it.

depends how you feed them too, if your buy reef chili for example that stuff will increase bioload because its coral specific. I just let my mysis i feed my fish do whatever the tiny particles are gonna do for my coral so it dosent increase mine.
