Hey!
I just wanted to ask whether you can overstock with corals or not. I do not mean habing problems with territory or sweeper tentacles, more like having too much waste.

I do not see an issue as long as you're not overfeeding or your filtration is sub par.

Real estate issue will become more notable before you see issues with bio-load.

A potential concern that comes to mind is that nutrients may be scarce in a system that's stocked full of corals. But I'd imagine proper dosing/water changes would fix that problem easily.

They usually eat the waste not produce it. Unless your over feeding and your filtration cannot handle it you should be fine.

Ditto to what everyone else said, but there are some exceptions.....some corals like Leathers are known to have a heavier load of byproducts....supposedly terpenoids in their case...but chemical by-products, including toxins, are not unheard of in other corals.

Higher densities of these types of corals will result in higher potential densities of these by-products.

Typically these by-products are managed with activated carbon, but you have to know your animal.
