New member from Owensboro Kentucky. New to the salt water side, in the gathering of parts process.

What I have so far -

Marineland 27 gallon cube/stand
5.5 Gallon Aquarium ( Will be sump )
Eshopps PSK 75
Refractometer

Need to get -
Light
Overflow kit (Will be drilling the back)
Sicce 1.0 or 1.5 return pump
Wavemaker (Probably the WP10 then upgrade later)
Marco Rock/Sand
ATO (Tunze Osmoloator)
RODI Unit

I've been looking at the Ocean Revive T247 light for the price, but may spend the extra money and get the radion xr15w. I'll purchase the light once the cycle starts. I still have a few months before I get it wet.

I also currently have a 75 gallon Mbuna tank.

Welcome to R2R

welcome to the forum! I am pretty new here myself but you say your from Owensboro. I am from Evansville so thats not too far of a drive. I lived right across the river in spencer county for many years and thats where my girlfriend is from, in Richland near rockport. We just recently moved up to the Indianapolis area but still come back south to go home and see the friends and family as much as we can too. Have you ever been to the store in Evansville on the corner of Burkhardt and Old Boonville Highway. Its called aquarium concepts and its a small corner store and she specializes mainly in freshwater cichlids but she usually has a nice little assortment of saltwater stuff to browse from too. I remember when Harp's pets use to have saltwater fish but they are only freshwater anymore, and not only that but their store is pretty stinky. Anyway, im rambling on killing time until 5 which is 2 minutes so I am off to play with my own tank for the evening. I wish you the best of luck with your tank and remember to post lots of pics.

My wife and I visit Evansville often and we've been to both of those stores a number of times! We have 1 salt water store here in Owensboro. We were just in Indy last month visiting one of her friends and their family. We went to one of the Uncle Bill's stores there and it had a pretty good saltwater selection!

Welcome! Cant wait to see the tank

I live about 10 minutes away from the Uncle Bills store on highway 37 northeast of indy in fishers and theres where I have gotten all of my saltwater stuff minus a few things ordered online. I go in there probably at least twice a month and they always have different crazy fish in there. I know there is another one of their stores down the road a bit and I need to check it out and see what their selection is like also.

Thanks! I've been doing a lot of research on lighting and I am still leaning towards the T247. I do like a few other brands but none have really made me jump. I'm also trying to make smart purchases since I have a feeling that eventually the 75 gallon will become a reef!
