M@ry Ruth went to the seafood market Friday and noticed that they has some fresh Gulf oysters. Knowing how well I like them she brought me two dozen. After opening them I decided to put one shell in each tank to see how the fish would react. They loved them! The wrasses and clowns tore into the bits of flesh left on the shells. The next morning I noticed my 5 inch A. tenella was 2/3 white! I freaked, yanked it out, inspected it, and dipped it in CoralRX for 5 minutes. No cooties came off and no eggs were noted. I sawed off the part that was still alive which amounted to a 2 inch frag. This morning it is white also.
Anybody think the oyster shell could have been responsible for this or was it just a coincidence? None of the other corals seem to have been affected and the fish look like they are wanting another shell.
