Have you ever wondered what would happen if you stopped using ozone for about 1-2 months?
I did just that because I wanted to see how yellow my water would become. Would I notice a difference in clarity?
I kept my husbandry like this:
Changed activated carbon 2x/month (ROX 0.8 in a bag; passive flow with shaking multiple times a week)
Skimming wet
100um filter socks changed 2x/week
Carbon dosed
Weekly 15% water changes
Here’s the before with no ozone:
Left: RO/DI + Instant Ocean saltwater. Took a 5 gallon sample from the clean water change brute.
Right: Tank water.
After:
Left: RO/DI + Instant Ocean saltwater. Took a 5 gallon sample from the clean water change brute.
Right: Tank water after initiating ozone. I ran ozone for about 2 days, split up during the week (ran it Sunday, then on Friday)
The tank looks really crisp and blue.
