So i have made several attempts to dose very small amounts of ozone and everytime i do all my leather corals close up a bit (not completely closed but very low polyp extension) and wont open until i turn the ozone off. I inject it at the lowest setting into a large skimmer and then stuff a bag of gac into the skimmer outlet pipe. Has anyone else experienced this before?

The reason i keep trying is that i have read it can help with toxins released by leather corals (which is all i have) and ive noticed many of my smaller colonies are struggling and thought it could be from the toxins released by the large toadstools.

That's interesting. I've been running an ozone system since the summer and every now and then some of my leathers get ticked off. I hadn't considered that they're not happy with the ozone system (I've also got a lot of inverts that poke, prod and generally move them whenever it suits them as well). I have some finger leathers that seem perfectly fine, though.

I have several different types of leathers and they are all equally affected by the ozone. At first i thought it could be from the sudden increase in light penetration due to clearer water...but they wouldnt adjust and after a few days i would give up and shut the ozone off again.

Are you running ozone 24/7?

Yes, 24/7 except when briefly emptying the skimmer.
