got it, get stronger air pump if it is far from skimmer, my ozone generator is larger unit and I need air pump that can push more air through the generator

It’s getting sucked through my skimmer, so I think it should be okay, will have to test it. I’m excited to try it and see how it goes, with a peninsular I feel like the difference should be really noticeable, fingers crossed

Thinking starting ozone in my tank l got media with it. Told to microwave it dry it out but no idea how long for

if you have color changing media it is easy to see if they are fully try, I bought auto dryer which has heat element built in and when ozone is off then heat element turns on and dries the media via hot air pumped through the media,

My yellow tangs may have had issues with ozone and that’s one reason I stopped using it regularly. In a skimmer application, you are not likely effectively passing the water over GAC to remove the ozone byproducts. For these reasons, I’d suggest using far less, and maybe only use it once in a while.

The benefit is less yellow water, and little more (IMO) and that takes far less ozone that most folks assumed based on the old guidelines.

So what size unit (output) did you use for volume of water? It has been many years since I have used ozone. Had it on a 180 then later on a 450g mainly for clarity/help break down larger compounds. I am still deciding on whether to use it again on my smaller tank. As you and many said just looking to run for short periods of time for clarity.
I figure I may just do it as i found my old ORP controller .. All I figure I need is a new probe.

From the last one;

Ozone was supplied by a 100 mg/hr Aqua Medic corona discharge ozone generator. In most cases, an Optima air pump sent the air through a Red Sea air dryer (500 g model) and then into the ozone generator. I also experimented with a Tetratec Deep Water air pump, with little difference noticed. The air/ozone mixture was then mixed with aquarium water in three different ways: a Coralife ozone reactor, my skimmer (ETS 800 Gemini), or a tubing reactor of my own design. The effluent air and water were passed over granular activated carbon (GAC) before being returned to the room and the aquarium, respectively (except when using the skimmer, where no GAC was employed).

My aquarium system consists of two main tanks (120 gallons and 90 gallons) and a variety of sump and support systems, including skimming, large macroalgae and sand-filled refugia. The aquaria contain a variety of fish, live rock, sand and invertebrates, including both hard and soft corals. In short, they are typical "mixed" reef aquaria. Near the end of this article is a section that details the nature of my aquarium system so that aquarists can understand whether their system deviates from mine in some important way(s).

I have 130 gallon. I’m using GEO’s new Ozone Reactor dialed in exactly like he says (very important). I’m also using his paper filter and carbon block to run it through before it hits my return pump area. I’m using a Poseidon on 4 using a dryer for 2 hours a day (12am/12pm). I’m thinking I can use it more often. But my water is incredibly clear. GEO’s stuff is incredible. I’ve got a 96x36x25 peninsula being built. I can’t wait to see the clarity this setup provides.
