Hi everybody!

Just wondering those of you that run ozone how do you use it? 24/7? only for a short period each day? Only at night?

I have mine set up to only run at night when nobody is around just to be super safe (Office tank) but then during the day, my ORP drops. So at night, it is sitting almost bang on 400mv and during the day drops to 260/270mv. Should be running it 24/7?
would appreciate your thoughts.

I don't run Ozone myself yet been following the owner of Tidal Gardens who several months back introduced ozone to his business. They are a large coral farm in Ohio that create some awesome corals. He has videos posted on You Tube showing what he did and how things have gone along the way. I'm sure you will get some responses from members on here but if time permits check out the Tidal Gardens information as they do a nice job creating video you can learn and get tips from when it comes to the pros and cons. Best practices and what not to do.

Yes, I watched these videos and love Than's content. Thanks for suggesting it though. More interested in how long people run them in a home / Office setup rather than a farm.

I only run at night. How long have you had it running?
I haven't seen a plot like yours before.

Except for 3 years recently when the thing croaked, I ran mine full blast with no controller or carbon for about 40+ years in my DIY skimmer. My skimmer is 5' tall so no chance of Ozone escaping into my home where it would destroy pictures of my old girlfriends. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Lucky you had the pix, after the originals melted ;)

24/7 here. I run carbon on top of my skimmer lid to help with the smell anyway so not much, if any, ozone is escaping

Thanks for the replies folks. It has only been running a week so far but that was just a day worth of graph I posted.

I have found that even having ozone running for a short time in the office I get a really bad headache very quickly.

do you smell ozone coming out of it? wondering if you dont have a cracked housing or leak somewhere on your unit.

my 400 mg ozotech cant even tell its on when sniffing near it

The smell is coming from the skimmer that I run it through. I have a bag of carbon over the lid but the smell is still really strong when running. I think I will have to just have it running at night when nobody is here.

my skimmer i do the same thing with carbon piped off the top of the skimmer cup, i run a huge skimmer, maybe it helps to dissipate the ozone. I also feed skimmer with water out directly coming out of the UV sterilizer, maybe that helps too.
