does anyone use one?

can you tell me how you have yours set up and possibly post a few pictures?

i have a machine and a orp meter/controller but i am really uncertain how to set it up as i got this unit second hand and there wasnt a lot of info offered on how to make it work.

also where is the best place to add the O3 (skimmer air line or a defuser in the skimmer body?)

also what is the proper amount of O3 wanted to put into the tank.

thank you for your input

also a question about the air dryer, where can you get the silica beads that change color when needing to be replaced.

sorry for all the questions

i put mine in through the skimmer but i only run mine 1 day a month

i would not over do any o3 and make sure you have carbon there is no rule of thumb on how much to use

To get the best out of Ozone, you want to run it through a reactor, not your skimmer. You also want any effluent going through carbon.
As far as ORP levels, keep it under 450. Unless you are seriously underdriving it for your system size, it should be run with a controller. Also, most types of O3 generators will run poorly without dry air and some will be destoyed by moisture in the air.

As for the dessicant beads, try e-bay.

In order it should be,

Airdrier
Airpump---if your O3 generator has a a pump built in, skip this
Ozone
Reactor
Carbon Reactor, both water and air.

Prolonged breathing of O3 is unhealthy.

Psycho is absoluty correct the best way to run Ozone is with a reactor.

If you use your skimmer, it will effect skimmate production, plus it is harder to run all the water through carbon.

You could use almost any reactor with some very simple modifications, Phosbans, RO cannisters etc.. I have a coralife O3 reactor, but they don't make them anymore.

If you decide to mod a reactor for O3, make sure it's made of Ozone safe materials. O3 can make some plastics very brittle with prolonged exposure.

I can walk you through the mods neede to make it work.

I never new you should use a reactor I ran one through a skimmer for a little while I borrowed a friends
