Ozone Reactor (broke hose barb)

I broke a hose barb on my ozone reactor (Mutiny ozone reactor v2). I replaced it with a pvc elbow, and a strait hose barb, that I had available (this is exposed the the ozone before the carbon removes it). I also replaced the output with a 1/2" quick connect from one of my carbon reactors (the part that threads in will be exposed to ozone before the carbon).

But I just now realized you are supposed to use ozone safe parts. Will I be safe leaving the pvc, and quick connect in? Or should I replace them (the hose barb looks exactly what you get at home depot). And if I need to replace it, is it safe to keep running it while I order the new parts? Or should I shut it down until I get it replaced?

It will be fine. You have several months to fit ozone resistant plastics. The fittings could become brittle and fail but they don't produce anything toxic.

It will be fine. I built my still running skimmer out of PVC maybe 30 years ago. Ozone has been going through it for 30 years except for 3 years where the generator broke. No problems yet but I think after 31 years there may be a problem.

The hose barbs sold at Home Depot are nylon and will have a relatively short lifespan. PVC would be good a long time.
I have had some fittings crack in 6-9 months. They just get brittle.

Thanks everyone for the replies... I am not as worried now. At worst case, I have time to get some new fittings. I was just worried they would melt away, and fall apart.
