Hi Randy, do you know of any filter pad material that would not desintegrate under heavy ozone inside a reactor?

My issue is, I'm running ozone to 2 large GAC media reactors from MRC ON THE OUTPUT OF Avast Marine MUTINY 3.

Problem I'm having is that water cascading from the top of the reactor sends out carbon dust into my acuarium. ( already had an event of HLL because of this).

Ozone destroyed the filter pad that came with the GAC MEDIA REACTOR. So went to a friend that builds acrilic sumps and he built me drilled plates that slow down the water to the carbon, but I'm still seeing black dust in the output as I put a filter sock to find out if issue was solved.

GAC reactors had to be installed backwards because ozone reactor is pressurized and air coming in the intake of the MRC REACTOR CREATED A EVEN BIGGER MESS.

So basically they are hooked Ozone reactor to output of MRC AND then into another MRC REACTOR with more GAC ON IT.

I could slow the water flow on the water pump but this creates other issues, like back pressure from the MUTINY 3 gets air inside the water pump, also ORP does not climb much if water pump is not cranked up.

Setup is about 700 gallons total water volume.

Ozotech 560MG with IQ40 dryer, mutiny 3 ozone reactor.

Water pump is a EcoTech Vectra M1.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks Randy, do you know where I can get the glass wool?

I see one old box pop up on google shopping, searching for "aquarium glass wool". :)

Thanks for you reply, ordered the glass wool from google shopping. I have lateral line on a couple of my tangs, the carbon I'm using is lignite from BRS, I heard from a friend I should be using Bituminous carbon instead to prevent lateral line., how accurate this info might be?

I do not know, but I had some erosion issues in tangs when using ozone and Marineland Black Diamond, but not later with a different yellow tang, but no ozone and switching to ROX carbon.
