I just purchased a Poseidon Ozone P303 generator and I was planning on running it through my Alpha Cone 200 skimmer since it has a hook up for ozone. My concern is the inability to run the discharge through carbon first, possibility of over dosing my system, and wearing down my $900 skimmer.
I do however, run carbon 24/7 on my system through a reactor split from my return pump and the tank itself has a ton of flow. I also have a lab grade ORP probe I plan on using through my APEX to control the reactor as I will slowly raise it each week. I've considered waiting to bite the bullet and order an independent ozone reactor with a chamber for carbon to run it through but would prefer not to.
The purpose of this thread is to seek advice from EXPERIENCED ozone users who have had success or failures using it through their skimmers and ideas on how to avoid wiping out my system. Does anyone have any good advice or just ran ozone without running it directly over carbon?
