Hi what are you guys opinion on ozone? I have 500 plus gallon Fowler system that i have been fighting Ich for about 9 months. I have a Aqua 80 watt UV with brand new bulbs but it is still affecting 2-3 of my 8 fish all about 6 inch plus. Would a large ozone system be a viable option to help Eradicate the Ich? I have been dosing food with vitachem and running a Diatom filter on it but its not enough. My other tanks are full of fish that i have been waiting to put in. I have been thing of removing most of my rock and treating with copper power just looking for other options. Thanks for your help. Tom

Hi if your going to stay fowlr then just at seachem cuppermine to the display tank. But remember once copper is in forget about adding corals invertebrates. There are a few other methods that you try, like lowering the saltlinty can’t remember how low to go. And the tank transfer method. But in all honesty copper is the way to go. And remember if you set up hospital tank to use copper u will need to leave display tank empty for min of 8-10 weeks. Ozone don’t know what that does to help within the reef, I can guarantee you that it won’t work and neither do UV to the 100% mark all they do is help control. Also from reading I found that if you don’t add any new additions to ur set up for 9-12 months the strain of ich that you have will start to die off. Sorry no reference but if u ready up you will come across it. I have always quarantined all my fish and still managed to get ich in the main tank. So I just let the fish deal with it, how ever I still quarantine all new arrivals and when added to main tank some do show sighs of ich...

Ozone does nothing for ich or velvet. UV does nothing for ich or velvet that are on the fish it only kills what goes threw the sterilizer and that’s only if you have the correct flow going through it and big enough bulb/wattage.
You will want to treat the fish with one of the methods above. Side note, some fish can not handle copper
