I've decided to get one ozoner for my fish tank to have a bit higher my oxygen levels. I am planning on controlling the ozone with my apex but before I go head in I was wondering what are the benefits of having an ozoner and if it makes a difference in a aquarium?

Probably not a huge difference. I think most people use ORP to monitor tank health or dying animals rather than maintaining any specific level.

Isn't ORP to see how oxygenated the tank is? The more Oxygen you have in the tank the better right?

ORP is not a measure of oxygen levels. Ozone generators do not add oxygen they add ozone which oxidizes the tank by accepting electrons. This can be lethal quickly if overdosed it's probably more harm than worth.

That is good to know. I always thought it was to raise oxygenation in the tank, so if I were to do that, does that help with algae growth, decompose of extra waste and things like that?

I suppose it would help with decomposing waste by oxidizing the decaying material. I don't know if it would increase algae growth.

If anything it will help slow down algae growth cause the third oxygen atom is going to oxidize any excess waste, and excess food left behind. It will also help your lighting PAR.
