I recently purchased the PacificSun small Algea reactor to help cultivate Pods and help keep my nitrates down. A few questions:
  1. How can you tell if there are Pods growing, and is there anything I need to do to get them into the DT? I want to get a Mandarin but I know they require a healthy Pod population to survive?
  2. I have some stringy brown/green like algea also growing in the reactor where the chaeto is, is this a problem? Do I need to remove it? I'm told all algea is kind of the same, if that's the case why do we all fret over this kind of algea when it's growing in the DT? Is it just because it doesn't look nice?
  3. I also have a clarisea roller mat and a GW-10 protein skimmer, my hope is to eventually not have to do WC's because i'll have 3 methods of nutrient controls. Is this achievable? I am also auto-dosing 3 part (Kh, Calc, Mag) + dosing Bio-Enhance and manually feeding phytoplankton for my corals.
For context my tank is 5-6 months old, its a Waterbox 130.4, using 3x Radion XR15s only LPS atm but eventually want to go mixed reef once I have more experience.

Bump,

see if anyone’s around tonight
