found this orb at the waterline on a beach outside San Francisco. It feels leathery and has a single kind of indented hole. Any ideas what it is?

Something that fell off of a tree?
I'm gonna be completely honest it's probably piece of plastic. I can ID most species from eastern pacific intertidal regions with the exception of polychaetes and a couple bivalves and this is uncharacteristic of anything found there
Maybe like a piece of foam then?Hmmm it really felt more organic than plastic but maybe. I wish I had kept it to cut open.
Oo an Acanthodoris lutea! Haven't seen one of those in a while. And those Anthopleura xanthogrammica are always a classic. Pardon the nerd speak lolAnd for everyone checking this thread here’s a lovely little tide pool and an adorable orange peel nudibranch!
