Saw one today that goes for $40, eating well and has nice color. I know theyre somewhat hard to keep alive. I got all kinda of frozen foods, NLS pellets, frozen clam, mussel at the ready. Tons of LR too.

Should i get him huh, huh, should I :)

We have one and she was picky at first and picked at the rocks quite a bit. She was afraid of the clip with algae so I would break some to float in the water and she would gobble it up and drop algae pellets. Mysis was another big thing to eat and after a month would eat anything that would go in. I posted a picture and she is in the back ground since she is impossible to get a picture of by herself.

I've had one for 7 or so years. It's in with much more agrgressive fish and does fine. As a matter of fact, it's the biggest jerk in my tank. I've seen it chase my triggers, my naso tang, and even my adult emperor. She's the first to attack a new addition fish too. Eats everything I throw in.

Wow so what's with the myth lemon peels are extremely fragile, hard to keep? I have a nice flame angel so will they get along fine?

They can be delicate their first few weeks, but already eating aggressively is half the battle. They are one of the Centropyge angels more prone to nip corals.

You may want to buy an acclimation box just to be sure. I've seen pygmy's go after a new addition pretty aggressively (mostly w/ coral beauty). What size is the tank you will be putting it in?

I think one thing I learned is keep the QT in a private room. I keep mine in the home office where the kids don't come in often. It is empty most of the days and I have a security camera setup to monitor the tanks. Works really well for me.

Heck I had a lemon peel and he was nipping at my corals and clam so I had to pull him out, i couldn't find a home for him, and I went to petco and asked if they'd buy him or do a trade and I got 50$ for him lol.

However I will say, he has been at the local petco(aka disease city) for about 3 weeks and he has had no signs of ich or anything else. So they seem to be able to become resistant to ich well, or at least mine did lol

I put our lemon peel in with a pygmy angel and they did some tail swifting and chasing until they got over it but my pygmy wasn't happy in the beginning. The lemon peel picked at a couple corals in the beginning and once she adapted to the food she is fine now. Ours is beautiful as she has an orange cast in her body.

Mine is definitely a coral nipper. My lemon peel and Picasso trigger tag teamed against my new mystery wrasse a few months ago and didn't let up until it was dead. It was the lemon peel showing the most aggression. Beautiful fish, but it's a real jerk.

Ok i picked it up just now and about an hr into acclimation, half way thru the process. It ate a lil bit at the store so thats a plus.

OMG my small YT is punking him non stop. I took him out and put him in a clear plastic shoe box floating in the tank. Stupid YT tank is still harassing as he can still see him. Will he eventually stop?
What should i do? Guys?

In most cases he will eventually stop after a day or so. If it doesn't one of them may need to be rehomed.

In the future, long acclimation can do more harm than good, as it exposes the fish to ammonia. I try to keep acclimation no longer than 20minutes.

Youre right the YT stopped harrassing him. Im not really concern about the ammonia since i remove some water out of the bag and add more every 5-10 mins. Finally peace has returned :)

My LemonPeel was a royal pain to get eating - took almost two weeks to get it to take anything. If I had put it straight into the display it would have been a gonner. They can be problematic with corals, though my current one has been fine so far (stress, so far). Also have an Eibli, so waiting for a whole bunch of tigerpyge babies ....

Beautiful aquarium and I love your pyramid butterfly.
