Posted a thread early on my pagoda cup coral not doing too well. I think I have figured it out the problem! I was feeding my corals and I saw a ton of mucus coming out of the polyps and the food left alone. Could it be that the coral isn't doing well because it isn't getting nutrients? Are there any solutions? Thoughts?

Here is the old thread:

Hi,

Pagoda’s have to be one of the weirdest things I have ever kept. I had one for years. It was open and polyps out for a few years. Out of nowhere the polys retracted. Stayed that way for at least 2 years. Never died, still stayed green, nothing receded, just no polyps. Then, I don’t know what I changed but they came fully out.

If you found it responding keep doing what you are doing. If the polyps don’t come out, don’t worry about it dying unless you see flesh receding. Try experimenting with different feedings, light, and flow to see if you can get them back out.
