I painted a Marineland tank a few years back with roll on rustoleum. Turned out great! Use painters tape to keep it off the sides and plastic if it has a rim.I am planning to paint the back side of my tank black. What type of paint have people used.
I was thinking about using a flat black from Rustoleum.
This is the one I was thinking of. Its has 2 overflow sections so I will always be against a wall and I will never have a need to see through it or remove it.I just painted the back of a 7ft. 210gal. Purchased Rust-Oleum flat black from Home Depot and it came out perfect. Used about half the can.![]()

I've painted with common household latex paints, epoxy paints and spray can enamels. The spray enamels have by far been the best. Krylon Fusion (Lowes/HD for $5) in spray enamel is my first choice.

Avoid matte or textured finishes because they create excessive drag on your magnetic algae scrubber.
Use multiple thin coats, THIN coats!
