I got a used tank that has a blue background and sides. I would rather have black. Is there a product that permanently binds to acrylic that I can use to make a black background and sides?

Could you laminate a thin sheet of black acrylic to the inside of the tank? Then use either vinyl or some kind of paint for the outside, krylon fusion comes to mind but I don't think it's made anymore TBH.. @cromag27 @Elder1945 @Floyd R Turbo thoughts here?

fusion is still available, but it’s become harder to find. honestly, any paint advertised for plastic can work. the tough part is that acrylic is a little more “oily” than other plastics, so there can be adhesion issues. best to test on a scrape piece of acrylic and see if you like the results.

is the blue background painted or is it blue acrylic?

The back and sides have a thin piece of acrylic veneer over the clear. I can do this again with the black if there is no suitable options for paint.
