Hi guys,

Just starting my new tank and my LFS guys made me a new tank. I asked for an internal overflow box (corner) from glass buy they wanted to be nice and made it from a so called calobel glass ( https://www.agc-yourglass.com/ch/en/brands/lacobel ). It is a kind of painted glass and if I am not mistaken they heat it / burn it out so it becames very resistent.

I am unsure if that is reef safe. LFS said they use many in fresh water but they do not know about salt water.

What do you guys think? Shall I cover it with a layer of glass to close it down from water?

If the paint is making contact with the salt water then I'd be nervous about that. I can't say for certain if it's not reef safe but personally I would be cautious.

I do not know what is in it to know if it is OK, but I'd speculate that it is OK.
