Does anyone know if I can paint my pvc pipe, let it dry and then glue the plumbing parts without leeching anything back into the tank? Or is glueing it after it’s painted affect the bonding or will that cause leaks and leech the paint back into the tank caused by the glue

I painted mine after gluing it together unions and everything. Just be sure to keep the painted parts out of the water and you should be good to go.

Interesting question, from what I have read looking into it, krylon is your best bet for paint wise but I wouldn't paint all the way to the end of the pipe. If you leave 1/2"-3/4" paintless on the end of each pipe for each fitting. I don't see it causing any issue with pvc glue bonding properly as long as you give it ample time to dry. I purchased coloured piping so I could avoid this issue all together. But still had to paint some valve handles.

Yep I would not put any paint on the pipe were glue is to be applied. There is no way that the paint will adhere to the pipe strong enough to perform the same way as clean pipe in a bonded joint.
