Painting the back glass

What’s the best type of paint/spray paint to use for painting the back glass of a tank? Can I just use regular flat spray paint I have around the house or is there a specific one I should use? Thanks!

I used what brs used on this video and it works great :)

I've used the $0.98 flat black spray paint from HD on a number of tanks. The oldest one (10 years old), other than the salt stains on the back, still looks like new. Can't beat it. Here it is right after it was painted.

Looks good! :) Here's how mine turned out using a roller

Flat or satin latex from Lowe's applied with a small roller. I put 7 thick coats on my cube when I did it. All those layers of paint prevented a huge disaster when the back glass cracked since the paint was so thick it bubbled and kept the water in.

I would have to say...any paint from Sherwin Williams ;) but I'm partial to my employer. It's on the back and not getting any abuse, anything will work. I slapped some old blue direct to metal paint on the back of one of my tanks. Then made waves!

I just used some flat black spray paint I had in the garage, think it was rustoleum. Cleaned the glass very well, put some tape on the sides where I didn't want overspray, and did a couple light coats. Gave it 15 to 30 mins in between coats. Looks good today, as it did over a year ago!

My buddy had me use plastidip. Dries fast. After a few coats covers nice. The plus side is if you ever break it down it just rubs off the glass by using your hand.
