I currently have one Maroon clown that is hosting bubble coral. I am planning on buying a couple anemones and would like a pair of clowns. Either finding a mate for my current one or removing him and buying a pair of clowns from lfs. So my question is how would I be able to pair a already established clown.

Tough, if you leave the current guy in its existing tank. If you want to try you could add both to QT tank (both will be on equal ground), make sure the new one is smaller. Then cross your fingers. The may fight for a few days if nobody is badly hurt they will probably mate.

No, they will need to stay in there till the bond, may take a week or so. A 10gal tank would work and throw some live rock from your DT in there for filtration. Get your self a sponge filter for a 20gal tank and heater. It is good to set up a QT tank.

Would a acclimation box work as well?

The acclimation box is to keep them separate until the female gets used to new guy, and so you can observe her reaction, but some people do pull existing and QT them together, only issue is if new guy comes w/ anything you'll be treating her as well, unless you qt new guy for a while first.

If you see female just casually looking at it like this, mellow, not darting at it, most likely ready to accept.

The dime shows about how small this male was, and about the size you want to assure still male.

Thank you for proving that it can work. I hope I can find a male this small at my lfs. My current maroon is probably only 2 inches but is only clown in tank so a female I assume. I’ve had it for about 5 months

Another thing, my maroon is currently hosting a bubble coral. Would it switch to a rbta pretty easily?

Oh I'm sure it will take to the BTA very fast, it's a natural host match, but maroons are one of the quickest to take a host, even if it wasn't a natural match, they are just wired that way more than other clowns for some reason.

That female I posted refused first 2 males, luckily she accepted the 3rd though, so you might get lucky on first try, maybe, but don't give up.

Inch and a quarter is about the biggest size of new clown I would try, that assures still male.
