Pairing fish

How do you pair your flame hawks and Randall’s gobies? Do you just stick two hawks or two gobies together and hope for the best? Does size or age matter? Do they change genders? I can’t find much info on this. Also, how do you get a pair or trio of firefish?

We observe them in QT and then house potential pairs together. After pairing them we monitor compatibility, etc. for a period of time. If all is well they are offered for sale. Sometimes we get certain fish as pairs from our suppliers. Firefish can be tricky to pair up so we only offer singles.
