Pairing flame angels

You need to figure out how to identify a male from a female first if possible.

Has to do with the amount of blue and shape of the fins. Unfortunately, unless you’re dealing with the exact same regional variant this is difficult. What many do for centroyge is buy two small ones and one large and hope the larger one has transitioned male, so to speak.

Unfortunately, I’ve tried this trio of flames twice and it “went up in flames” quickly. The larger kills off the smaller angels in short order when it decides that’s what it wants to do.

This is a risky endeavor, unfortunately. Flame are more aggressive to conspifics than many other centropyge. I’ve kept trios of potters a few times with good success. No such success with flames.

I’ve had luck both times doing what was suggested size wise. You need lots of caves and add together
