Looking for Information on pairing potters angels. Thanks

Had mine almost a year, he seems to be doing well

@chad vossen is the one to ask.

I've had a few pairs of bonded dwarf angels and the key seems to be getting one larger adult sized fish and one much smaller juvenille. I'm currently toying with the idea of getting either a pair of Potter's or a pair of Regals. :)

The Scott Michael book says " Male has a broader area of blue in the center of the body than females."

If you have had one a year I would assume its a male as the transition can be quick. With some reservation I would generally recommend getting the smallest juvenile you can and hope they get along. If your potters is particularly huge then you may want to use an acclimation box or partition for initial introductions. You may need to try a few times potters seem to be picky in my very limited experience.

Agreed with getting a small individual and using an acclimation box to introduce. There still will be some aggression after, so keep an eye to make sure its not too relentless.

I agree mine is a Male, the blue area is clearly larger than it was when I received it.

I may give this a try. The hard part is going to be acquiring a healthy, small potters.

Since they can change quickly, should I remove my existing Male and place in qt with the new, smaller potters? I could use a divider if things get too aggressive.

Or perhaps I should just leave well enough alone and be happy I have an apparently healthy potters?

Lol we reefkeepers are predictable if nothing else!

It wont be for a while, the upgrade just got filled yesterday. I'm working out some plumbing issues then I will start moving livestock over.
