Hi I’m slowly adding some fish to my tank and I added three pj cardinals to my tank today. I am excited because I think they are going to be a good fit for my tank (i don’t want flashy since I want it to be more of an invertebrate/coral tank) I currently have two young clowns and a few crabs in my 170l tank. I feed with hikari marine s and frozen brine shrimp (brine every third day) .

Any tips for feeding these guys ? (I’m still a new reefer :) )

They seem very at home in my live rock (like it was designed just for them.)

I love those guys, have 2 in my 180. They are so chill.

Each of mine does have different tastes though. I usually feed frozen, like James m mention not to much nutrition in brine unless you get spirulina. I feed life spectrum marine pellet every so Often but one like and other doesn’t. Both eat black worms and clams. Pe mysis is both of their main staple though .

They dont like a lot of flow and will hide from it. The will eat a lot of things. I don't cater to them.
My tank gets: live back worms, live white worms, live clams chopped, fresh hatched brine shrimp and live pods. Frozen cubes of: spirulina brine, mysis, rods food, fish eggs and calanus, and rotifers.

I use frozen mysis/brine shrimp & thaw it in tank water in a plastic cup. I also feed them pellets to make sure when I go on vacation they don't starve.

Edit
They also get LRS a cple times a wk.

I just turned my wave pumps off and they came out of the rocks. Turned them on and they hid in the rocks again. I will have to figure something out. I have a remote so I can play from my bed if I want I guess ;)

Frozen mysis. Hakari makes a good mysis for smaller fish, PE makes a great one for smallish/medium sized fish. If you have any larger fish and herbavores like tangs I recently bought a pack of hakari Reef Riot. My fish loveeeee it. They go ham.

I only say for larger fish because it does have a few larger hunks of squid and krill that would take awhile to decompose if not eaten.

I grabbed some Mysis shrimp to try. Let’s see how they like it. I have so few fish I only use a quarter (or smaller of a cube). I normally just drop it in the tank frozen but I guess I can thaw it :)

Hoping it will feed my cleanup crew as well.

This is all they had the pets shop near my house. I will have to order PE next month.

Yea you can use that pack up. I had issues after using that brand. But one pack won’t do any damage to your tank. Most my issues was me target feeding corals with it, it killed lps somehow.
