How long does it take for them to be full grown? I bought two small ones and lost one in QT within first few days. Wondering how long it will take the little one left to become full size. Also, if I replace the lost one with a medium size one will the two have any issues with one another or will they adapt fine despite size/age difference?

PJs are docile fish and do not fight with each other or others in the tank. They have a pecking order but it is primarily posturing not actual fighting. I have had the same pair for 4 years and they are full grown. Probably took 2 years to get full grown.

So you thinking adding a slightly larger one won't impact the little one too much?

Agreed. Adding another one shouldn't be an issue, even if a little different in size.

They are a slower growing fish. A year and a half to two years is about right for growth.

Thanks! Just left LFS and the current batch they have was even a tad bigger than the last batch they had. But they cost less than the other LFS so I got two mediums plus my small. Hopefully they don't bother the small guy but I figured in case they do at least I'll still have the 2 I wanted.
