I have a 150g tank with a sump and have three clownies and two yellowtail blue damsels. I had a lot of drama a few months ago and lost/ gave back stuff to LFS due to lack of knowledge and newbie mistakes. Anyway, I have a quarantine tank set up and am looking for new fish. I'm looking for easy, peaceful, reef safe.

I'm thinking about getting 5 or 6 pajama cardinals, I've read that they school and i think they look rather dashing despite their funny outfits. I'm ok with a chill fish. I think it will be cool to watch them school and I understand they are nocturnal. I read someone else's post that they were boring and just stared at the corner (lol). I'm just looking for some opinions. I have other fish I want to add as well and don't want to use up my fish quota on something that is as exciting as a box of rocks.

Thanks for any thoughts!!

Well I agree they can be boring I enjoy them, I have a trio that school together and are super chill. I can also recommend blue/green chromis, I have 8 of them and it’s like a frat party everyday with them. Amusing as hell

oh great! I had not considered that. Would 7 or 8 be ok in 150g?

Very cool and inexpensive fish, I have the pajama and regular cardinals in each tank. Chill

I have one in my 120.
It just floats around all day.

I would think so, just watch it when you add that many fish at once for an ammonia spike, not sure how established and the size of your quarantine tank.

BOTH. They sit and chill not doing much even when in pairs and snap out for a meal and go back to their " Chill" state

I have Bangaii and Pajama cardinals and they pretty much just chill out of the flow until feeding time. Cool to look at though.

My oldest fish in my tank is a bluegill sized pajama lol. Very calm fish but it is a good contrast to the other fish zipping around. They have amazing coloration which gets better as they age...at least that was the case with mine.

Not pjs but they are my alternative to uronema
I meant to type chromi/anthias
Got 5 in there
