Paly weird mouth discoloration

Hi all

I have a growing colony of ‘Captain Jack’ palys, and this morning I noticed that one of the polyps has a odd discoloration. It almost looks like the polyp mouth has been eaten or has some sort of disease. Anyone have an idea, should it just be removed?

I already removed the polyp in question, it started getting larger within the same day as I took the picture in question. All surrounding polyps seem to be ok for now.
