Hubby, who loves the giant palys, picked this one out at the lfs yesterday. Was suggested we keep on sand so it can't aggressively take over. Like the other big palys he picked (in my 66 gal).

It's pretty. Would love to know what it is

+1 on Grandis.

They can stay green or have bits of sky blue depending on the lighting.

Lol, and definitely keep it on the sand or way up high.
They are not too fast, but definitely a grower.

Carbon can almost completely neutralize the Paly toxin they put out.

We have had them (without fragging) for years. No issues.
Just respect them.

I think I'd assume so being larger. Here is the other one my hubby loves. It's taking over which doesn't make me happy. Started out with 2 polyps...

That one is a better grower. And will definitely take over.
Similar growth rate and results to GSP.

Now is a better time to redo your rock work and seperate them. I love the look of those, but got tired of the growth rate.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Wear gloves and eye protection just in case.

Generally not a bad idea moving most softies.

Run some carbon afterwards for at least a few days to a week and it should be fine.

Do these have a lot of paly toxin?
Enough to be a problem if you are fragging them.
Wear eye protection and gloves. If you are cutting them a face shield wouldn't be a bad idea. Wash up well afterwards.
Just like with *any* house hold cleaner, or pool chemical, or tank chemical, Do not get this stuff in your eyes.
Or touch your eyes until you have washed your hands well.

If I ever wanted to just get rid of them I would give up the rock and seal the whole thing in a bunch of newspapers or a few old towels and seal it with some carbon, several plastic bags thick and dump in trash. I would not try to reuse the rock.

They need to be respected.

Otherwise, we have had them for years sitting in the tank and they just need to be enjoyed.

lol's @Fin Going to remove that rock and put it in the 125 on the sand all by its lonesome. Could put the new ones there too and let them mingle?
Sounds like a Paly-Party to me. :-)
