I noticed today that the green palys in the back left corner are almost touching the back wall. groaned and told hubby I'd have to shift the rock some so it didn't get on the back wall. Can't shift too much or it will get on the front rock! Hubby's response was:
"Is that a bad thing?"
Me. "We don't want them on the back, do we?" (I don't even want them in the tank lol's)
Him. "Why not?"

He loves these palys. Question is, is having palys on back a good idea or bad? Or a matter of tank vision. Will they fall off and spread? Get blown off? I don't want to do something I'll regret (like letting him pick these out lol's)

I glue frag plugs with zoa on them to my over flows I feel it looks good when they spread

It really just depends on what you want. I have a pretty sizeable colony of gorilla nipple zoas growing on my back wall. Occasionally a few will blow off and I'll find them sitting on the sandbed, but I kind of like it because it's an easy frag. I just pick them up and glue them to a frag plug.

picture? Me personally I think I want my back wall clear. Hubby would love it as the palys are his favorites. In the end, it will be what it will be lol's. At some point my control will go out the window and the tank will become!

Bottom center of the picture. You can see the zoas above the clownfish.

Here's a shot of them from the side. They basically grew onto the back wall from the rock in front of it.

that's what mine will do. to keep them away from other rock, they are close to back wall and one fell off and is right at the bottom touching the wall

Those type of green palys, I personally would keep them completely isolated to 1 rock.

If you don’t mind them, they will grow on the back. The problem is that the palys that grow the easiest tend to be almost invasive in their growth. I had pandoras growing on my overflow and they absolutely took over to the point that they covered the overflow slats. I had hundreds of polyps in the space of three months. I actually got sick removing them.
