Hey yall,
Im mostly convinced I have a bacterial infections on one of my frags. Of 5 polyps, only one is unaffected.
I can see its stomach and innards through the side of the polyp. It has went from healthy to being able to see through the polyp. So, Im going to dip for bacterial but I cant decide whether to do:
1) furan2
2) iodine
3) furan2 then iodine.

dosages will be 1 pack per cup of saltwater for the furan2 and 4 or 5 drops per cup for iodine.

I still have one healthy polyp. I started out with 8 but I decided to cut off 3 polyps that were disintegrating to save the rest of the frag.
I cant find anything online so for now, I assume its bacterial. No other polyps in the tank are doing it right now. I will post a pic for reference tonight.
Thank you,

I don't have input on what you should do as i don't have the experience using those products to help cure an infection. I just use iodine to dip newly fragged zoas. However, what I will say is that if I ever have a frag of something getting "sick" and I know it's getting bad but still have a polyp or two that is still good, right away I cutout the good zoas and mount them to a new plug. Then i worry about the infected ones and come up with a plan. Every time I have done this the ones that got mounted onto a new plug survived and is still thriving.

I just do straight furan 2 or erythomycin.

I had cut away the gross ones prior to these getting bad but didnt think about re-plugging.
Ill do that tonight when I get pics. Thank you

I do have some of that left too...do you have a recipe?
Why would chemiclean be a better choice than furan2?
Erythromycin I have found to suite me better with zoanthids when it comes to stress.
I put 5 drops in 250ml (sorry I do everything with beakers)

I do everything in beakers/liter pitchers so no worries.
How hard is erythromycin to get? Ive seen the powder but never liquid.

this please and thank you. Is this in the new frag tank?

Nerd.
;)
sadly yes....its the new tank. Thats why I waited so long to "treat". I thought it was just new tank sydrom and they would perk back up but I could literally see through them. Think...see through frog eggs.

and is there a recipe for powder form?

chemiclean makes a few different products, which one is it?
?? Boyds chemiclean
I have only used the liquid as it is easier to measure per drop rather than per Mg
So what is it.. 1 scoop for 10 gallons so it would be 1/2 scoop to 250ml if I am thinking right this morning
