2.5"! I knew they were big, but didn't recognize how big until I realized the Tunze nano powerhead was about 2.7" There are 19+ on this rock, and I have another with 16+, though a only 1.5-1.75" they have better colors (more greens and browns)

More pics of the grandis? We need to start a thread on here, I have one on the other site but haven't had much time to update.
I have quite a few pics of the grandis under different lighting, they change colors and patterns really easy under different lights. Really fun to play with. We have had them for a long time and there are quite a few in our zoa tank, we need to make room for them to grow more.

I agree...coloration does change with lighting. I have some that are more white/green/brown mottled in higher light, and on the same rock the ones that are in indirect lighting are much darker colors.

There are so many different variants. The brown ones are always brown and the green ones always green ime.

Does anyone ever frag these? I have fragged hundreds of palys before but for some reason I am hesitant to cut these guys because I know they pack a lot of palytoxin. And more so how they grow at the base. I have about 8 on a frag disk and the way the mat and stems are group together its hard to determine where I should make my cut in fear that I might cut into the body of one and release the toxin. Anyone have any tips on these specific palys?
I have fraged multiple times. I would suggest wearing gloves and safety glasses even though I never do. I just find a place that has the least amount of meat and cut with a razor. Then use bone cutter or small chisels to get off the rock. I do use long tweezers to pull from the rock and glued to the new plug. I try not to touch them as much as possible. Wash hands when done.
